Brown to get fired?
|
First he popped up on American Idol to show the US public his newly-polished gnashers, then he held important talks with none other than warbling Colombian hip-shaker Shakira. Now it seems the next move of our beleagured Prime Minister Gordon Brown is to emulate none other than Sir Alan Sugar.
Avid Apprentice watchers might recall that Sir Alan was forced to cut short a boardroom firing session to have lunch with the Prime Minister a few weeks ago well, it could be that they were discussing tips on how to look good on camera. The secrets all in the booster seat, said Sir Alan. Possibly.
The story came to light when some close-up snaps of a document carried by Communities Secretary Hazel Blears listed details of a proposed TV show called Junior PM, along with a note saying it would be "a golden opportunity" for Brown to boost his ailing popularity. Hmm Junior PM with Gordon Brown? It almost sounds like something lifted straight from Alan Partridges Dictaphone.
Whether the TV show ever emerges remains to be seen, but at least it gave one Tory wag the opportunity to make a wisecrack. Pensions secretary Chris Grayling said a reality TV show starring Gordon would be very lucrative as millions of people would queue up to vote him off. Arf.
